Iowa’s 63-0 victory over Illinois on Saturday night was a special one for head coach Kirk Ferentz.

The blowout victory marked the 150th career win with the Hawkeyes for the longest-tenured coach in the B1G. He became the fifth coach in conference history to hit that milestone.

Saturday’s win was also the largest margin of victory of the Ferentz era at Iowa. It seems only fitting that the 150th win came in historic fashion.

After the game, players shared a special moment with Ferentz in the locker room. As you can tell in the video, the Iowa head coach was certainly emotional after the victory.

Iowa is now 7-4 on the season and 4-4 in B1G play.

In his 20 seasons with the Hawkeyes, Ferentz has accumulated a 150-101 record. He’s 90-72 in B1G games in his career.

Ferentz took over the program in 1999. In that time, the Hawkeyes have earned a share of a B1G championship twice and have claimed one division title. Ferentz’s teams have attended 15 bowl games in that stretch.

The Hawkeyes round out the regular season next week against Nebraska.
