Iowa is beginning to build a lead over Minnesota, and the Hawkeyes used one trick play to get things rolling.

After winning three straight close games over the Golden Gophers, it looks like Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is wanting to build as big a lead as possible early on. The Hawkeyes were already up by a touchdown with a fourth-and-goal in the first half when Ferentz decided to go for it.

Iowa motioned out of a field goal formation and set up in an unbalanced trick formation. The center was the only person to line up near the ball with a number of Hawkeyes lined up wide right. In the end, the center pulled off a direct snap to TE T.J. Hockenson who was lined up outside.

The snap was incredibly accurate and left Minnesota no time to get out and cover Hockenson. He beat everyone to the corner of the end zone for the score off the trick play.
