This tradition seems to get better and better every week.

When the season started, Iowa fans turned around at the end of the first quarter and waved at patients in the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital which overlooked Kinnick Stadium. Since then, officials, opposing teams and even College GameDay have shown support for and taken part in the best new tradition in college football.

On Saturday, Iowa’s marching band got involved.

During halftime of the Illinois-Iowa game on Saturday, the band marched into the formation of a hand, and moved back-and-forth to replicate a giant hand waving at the children in the hospital.
