WATCH: Things are getting chippy in the B1G opener between Iowa and Rutgers
The first Big Ten game of the season for both schools, things got chippy near the end of the first quarter in Iowa City.
Hawkeyes junior wide receiver Brandon Smith and Scarlet Knights senior defensive back Damon Hayes got tangled up downfield. Our own Dustin Schutte provided video of the incident:

A 247Sports Composite three-star in the 2017 class, Smith has appeared in 15 games across three seasons. He caught a touchdown pass in the season-opening win over Miami (OH).
Like Smith, Hayes was a three-star prospect. A native of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, he was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection by the media in 2017.
