What Kirk Ferentz said after Iowa's win over Minnesota
Iowa had an opportunity on Saturday to get a Big Ten road win when the Hawkeyes traveled to face Minnesota.
The team’s offense — more so than the defense — showed up ready to play and got the Hawkeyes a victory. Iowa won the game 48-31, as QB Nate Stanley completed 23-of-39 passes for 314 yards and 4 TD.
The Hawkeyes’ defense wasn’t as stellar, but questions have been around Iowa’s offense all season long and it was good to see a game go this way if you’re a fan. Sure, the defense didn’t play up to expectations, but when the offense had to score, it delivered.
Iowa is now 4-1 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play with a game at Indiana taking place Oct. 13.
After the win over Minnesota, Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz spoke with the media:
Kirk Ferentz says in the radio postgame that the Big Ten will look at the Amani Jones targeting again. He may be good for next week. Will replay work this time?
