Fran McCaffery had no trouble voicing his frustration with the officiating crew on Tuesday night following No. 22 Iowa’s 90-70 loss to Ohio State.

A few questionable calls didn’t go the Hawkeyes’ way late in the game, and both McCaffery and his son Connor McCaffery received technical fouls late in the second half. But those two calls played a minimal role in Iowa’s 20-point loss at Value City Arena.

But McCaffery, still furious with the officiating after the game, had a few words for a referee after the game. And those words were far from polite.

According to Kyle Rowland of the Toledo Blade, McCaffery screamed “You cheating mother (expletive)! You’re an (expletive) disgrace!”

That’s probably not the first time a coach has gone ballistic on an official after a game, but those moments aren’t too often captured by the media. And it’s not a great look for McCaffery.

Asked about the situation after the game, McCaffery said “I can’t talk about that.”

Iowa dropped to 21-7 on the year and 10-7 in B1G play. The Hawkeyes are back in action on March 2 when they host Rutgers.
