2 Texas players ruled out for Maryland game
Maryland’s Week 1 opponent will be without at least two of its players.
Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman reports that Texas LB Ayodele Adeoye and DB DeMarvion Overshown will both miss the Sept. 1 game due to knee injuries. He says the long-term statuses of the two freshmen defenders are not yet known.

Adeoye, out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., was ranked the No. 6 inside linebacker of the 2018 class by the 247Sport Composite. Overshown, from Arp, Texas, was ranked the No. 6 safety in the class. Both players had scholarship offers from multiple B1G schools (but not Maryland) as recruits.
Maryland defeated Texas last season 51-41 in Austin to kickoff the 2017 campaign. This year’s game will be played at FedEx Field.
Texas LB Ayodele Adeoye and DB DeMarvion Overshown have both been ruled out for the Maryland game with knee injuries. Their longer-term status is still unclear.
