Maryland’s 2022 recruiting class has taken a hit.

Nyair Graham, a 3-star linebacker from New Jersey, has decommitted from Maryland and will reopen his recruitment. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound outside linebacker makes the announcement just three months after giving his verbal pledge to the Terrapins.

“I would like to thank all the coaches at the University of Maryland that recruited me, but after a talk with my family and coaches I will be decommitting and will be opening my recruiting process back up 100 percent,” he said, per 247Sports.

Graham is ranked as the No. 37 outside linebacker in the 2022 recruiting class and he’s listed as one of the Top 15 prospects from New Jersey. He’s received plenty of interest during the process, with 17 schools extending an offer.

Along with Maryland, Graham received offers from Boston College, Miami (FL), Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Nebraska, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia at the Power 5 level.

With Graham’s decommitment, Maryland is down to six commitments in the 2022 class, ranking No. 22 nationally and No. 5 in the B1G.
