During Maryland’s practice on Wednesday, the program attached a mic to receiver Dontay Demus Jr. to record everything he was saying.

The video shows him coming out of the training room to practice, running routes, getting players to say hello to the camera, and so much more.

About 20 seconds into the video, Demus Jr. also tells some of his teammates to “have a day” as they were coming off the field. He also was recorded agreeing with one of his coaches that “it’s a great day to be a Terp.”

Demus Jr. will be going into his senior season and he’s been one of Maryland’s best receivers the last 3 years. His best season came as a sophomore in 2019 when he had 41 catches for 625 yards and 6 touchdowns.

His 2020 season wasn’t quite as good, but he still put up solid numbers. He finished the season with 24 receptions for 365 yards and 4 touchdowns.

He’ll have his first chance at topping those stats when Maryland opens their season on Sept. 4 against West Virginia. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET.
