The Big Ten Conference has issued an official statement regarding the University of Maryland, as an independent investigation continues.

Wednesday afternoon, the Big Ten released a statement from its official Twitter account.

“As comprehensive and independent investigations continue at the University of Maryland, we want to share our condolences and deepest sympathies with the family of Jordan McNair,” the statement said. “We support the fact-finding process undertaken by the University of Maryland and will continue to closely monitor its investigations into the football program before drawing any conclusions as to whether there is further action required.”

On Tuesday, the University of Maryland held a press conference to address the death of Jordan McNair and the ongoing investigation into the culture of the football program.

President Wallace Loh and athletic director Damon Evans both issued statements at the press conference on Tuesday.
