BTN analyst Nicole Auerbach praises talent on Maryland roster
Is it crazy for Terps fans to be looking forward to the 2022 season for the first time in what seems like forever?
Maybe not. The Terrapins return a lot of talent from last season’s squad, after all. What’s especially exciting is the offense, which is poised to be a strong point heading into head coach Mike Locksley’s fourth year at the helm.

Big Ten Network analyst Nicole Auerbach is impressed by the talent on the roster.
“I think Maryland is a team that more and more people are going to realize there’s a lot more talent on that team,” Auerbach said.

The wide receiver corps could be especially dangerous. Maryland adds Florida transfer Jacob Copeland, who totaled 86 catches for 1,366 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns in four years in the Swamp.
Rakim Jarrett is back too, representing the Terrapins leading receiver in 2021. Jarrett hauled in 5 touchdowns and 829 yards receiving from Taulia Tagovailoa, perhaps the most exciting part of Maryland’s offense this year.
Tagovailoa threw for 3,860 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season. He set Maryland single-season records in completions, passing yards, completion percentage and touchdowns in 2021. Those that didn’t notice Tua’s brother in 2021 are bound to know his name in 2022.
