Chig Okonkwo reacts to NFL preseason debut during return to Maryland

Chig Okonkwo polished his game at Maryland throughout college. Now in the NFL as a member of the Tennessee Titans, Okonkwo was back in Maryland on Thursday night.

Okonkwo and the Titans were in Baltimore to face the Ravens for the preseason opener for both sides. The 4th-round pick for Tennessee had a catch for 5 yards and registered just 2 targets but left the game after limited action unscathed.

After the game, Okonkwo was asked what it was like to have his debut back in Maryland. It was also extra special with the 2022 Maryland squad coached by Mike Locksley in attendance.

“That was awesome, having them there supporting me,” said Okonkwo. “They were in the tunnel cheering me on when we were coming out. Coming back here in Maryland, it was really cool, a very nice experience that felt like home.”

Hopefully, Okonkwo gets off to a hot start as a rookie in Tennessee.
