Deonte Banks is off the board. The New York Giants traded up to No. 24 overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft to take the cornerback out of Maryland.

Out of Edgewood (Maryland), Banks was rated 3-stars, the No. 76 cornerback and No. 854 prospect overall in the 2019 recruiting class on the 247Sports Composite. Banks signed with the Terrapins over 5 other scholarship offers, exceeding expectations in his college career.

Banks played in 30 games over 4 seasons at Maryland. In 2021, he played in only 2 contests before suffering a season-ending injury.

Banks bounced back from injury to All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2022. This past season, Banks totaled 38 tackles (25 solo), 8 pass breakups, 1 interception and a half-sack.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, Banks checked in at 6-feet, 197 pounds. He posted a 98 athleticism score, 1st among cornerbacks. Banks clocked a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, 1.49-second 10-yard split, 42-inch vertical jump and 11-foot, 4-inch broad jump.
