Dino Babers: Syracuse’s eyes are ‘wide open’ following Maryland’s strong win

Dino Babers is well aware Maryland will push his Syracuse team to its limit Saturday.
The head coach of the Orange is definitely doing his best to motivate the team after a lackluster Week 1 performance. Syracuse traveled to take on Liberty in the season opener and left the final outcome up in the air for a long time before securing a 24-0 win. While that was not an impressive performance, Babers knows the one put up by Maryland was dominant.

When discussing Week 1, Babers said that Syracuse wishes it had the kind of outing that the Terrapins put up. It caused the Orange to take notice of Mike Locksley’s squad entering Week 2.
Lila Bromberg with The Testudo Times shared Babers’ comments:
“Obviously, they had a fantastic outing,” said Babers. “I think they set all kinds of scoring records with the shutout. … We wish we had an offensive outing the way their offense played along with the way their defense played. … Our eyes are wide open, and based off of how we played and how they played, I could see how people could have them favored.”
The latest betting line for the game is Maryland -1.5. Hopefully, the Terrapins put up another strong outing and pull off the upset. Kickoff Saturday is set for 12 pm EST on ESPN.
