DJ Moore reportedly traded by Carolina Panthers in blockbuster deal
DJ Moore is reportedly on the move after playing the first 5 seasons of his NFL career for the Carolina Panthers.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers are sending Moore to the Chicago Bears in a package to acquire the top overall pick in this year’s draft. In addition to the Maryland product, Schefter reports Carolina is sending the No. 9 and No. 61 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, a first-round pick in 2024 and a second-round pick in 2025.

Moore has just over 5,200 receiving yards so far in his NFL career with a trio of seasons with at least 1,100 yards to his credit. During the 2022 season, Moore finished with 888 receiving yards and a career-high 7 touchdowns.
Moore’s impact for Chicago
While the biggest assets for the rebuilding Bears are the draft picks, the impact Moore can have on the franchise should not be overlooked. Chicago clearly is a believer in quarterback Justin Fields but realizes a need to give Fields some more weapons to work with.
Moore immediately steps into the fold as a legitimate WR1 target for the offense and should be a focal point for Fields to work with 2023.
