The mayo bath is on for the 2022 Duke’s Mayo Bowl, the game announced Monday.

Maryland and NC State are set to meet on Dec. 30 in Charlotte. Mike Locksley and Dave Doeren have both agreed to take a “mayo bath” if their team wins the game.

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer was the first coach to get the mayo bath treatment after the Gamecocks won last year’s contest.

Maryland enters the game with a 7-5 record. The Terrapins secured bowl eligibility in October after defeating Northwestern 31-24. The Terps had 3-straight losses in November, but ended the regular season on a high note with a 37-0 win over Rutgers.

NC State is 8-4 on the year, finishing the regular season with a thrilling win over in-state rival North Carolina 30-27 in double overtime.

The Duke’s Mayo Bowl is set for Dec. 30 with a noon ET kickoff, airing on ESPN.
