Durell Nchami has been a productive player for Maryland’s defense throughout his career. Now, he’s preparing to make the jump to the NFL but not before one more game to wrap things up.

In a Sunday evening announcement, Nchami announced he was declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft but is also looking forward to one final game with the Terps. He will play in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl before beginning his draft preparations.

“Dear Terp Nation, these past 5 years in College Park have been an unbelievable blessing,” wrote Nchami. “Growing up in Maryland and playing for the Terps has been a dream that I got to live…

“With that being said through discussions with family, I have decided that the Duke’s Mayo Bowl will be my last game as a Terp. I am thrilled to begin this next stage in life and am officially declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft.”

A member of the 2018 recruiting class, Nchami finished second on the Terps this season with 3 sacks and second in TFL with 6. For his career, he has 17.5 TFL and 9 sacks with his best work coming across the 2021-22 seasons.
