ESPN's FPI predicts every remaining game for Maryland entering Week 6
ESPN’s FPI has updated its outlook for the rest of the college football season, including the rest of Maryland’s schedule. The Terrapins are 5-0 for the first time under Mike Locksley and the first time for the program since 2001.
Unfortunately, Maryland was snubbed from the latest AP Top 25 while the program begins to hit the toughest stretch of the season. That snub feels more like a projection for how the Terrapins finish the season as opposed to a reaction to what Maryland has accomplished.
The good news is the FPI has Maryland as a virtual lock to get to 6 wins and reach another bowl game. However, the most likely projected record for the Terrapins is 8.6-3.4 per the FPI.
A lot of that has to do with games against Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, and that explains why Maryland is still not highly favored in the Big Ten Championship odds. Still, the Terps could be a great buy-low option for fans, and anyone looking to get in on the action can use our DraftKings Maryland promo code to get started!
Even if the B1G title is a longshot, Maryland maintains a great shot to get to 9 wins this season but would need an upset or two to get to double-digit wins before a bowl game. Here is how the FPI sees the rest of the schedule shaping up in terms of win probability for the Terps:
- Oct. 7 at Ohio State — 9.4%
- Oct. 14 vs. Illinois — 83.2%
- Oct. 28 at Northwestern — 78.8%
- Nov. 4 vs. Penn State — 21.8%
- Nov. 11 at Nebraska — 76.5%
- Nov. 18 vs. Michigan — 27.7%
- Nov. 25 at Rutgers — 64.2%
