One of the more intriguing games around the B1G for Week 1 is West Virginia-Maryland.

The 2 schools haven’t played each other since 2015 when the Mountaineers waxed the Terps 45-6 in Morgantown. This matchup is expected to be a lot closer as ESPN’s FPI has this as close to a coin flip as you can get.

According to the FPI, WVU has a 51.3% chance of beating the Terps on Saturday and it’s likely due to the experience that they have coming back on both sides of the ball.

The Terps are still very much a young team but that doesn’t mean that they can’t pull out the win. The game is at College Park and Taulia Tagovailoa will be back as the starter for his junior season. He’s coming off a 2020 season where he finished with 1,011 yards passing and 7 touchdown passes.

Tagovailoa will have to be on his A-game if Maryland wants to upset WVU, especially against Jordan Lesley’s defense.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm. ET and it’ll be televised by ESPN.
