Maryland is looking to improve on a bowl-win season, and the Terrapins are back at it in spring practices.

In their 3rd season under head coach Mike Locksley, the Terrapins finally found a groove. They earned a bowl bid and punctuated the season with a dramatic win in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl to finish at 7-6 overall.

After the first day of practices, Locksley addressed the expectations for the spring session. The big takeaway? Maximize every opportunity:

“Good day one,” said Locksley. “I saw lots of teaching and lots of learning and we have to take full advantage of every opportunity: every meeting opportunity, every practice opportunity.

“So whenever you come in here, you gotta come in here with the mindset of growing, learning, alright? It’s not just going through the motions.”

Unfortunately, Maryland has lost some key pieces on the defensive side of the ball this offseason. On Monday, linebacker Demeioun Robinson announced he was exploring his options via the transfer portal.
