Ex-Terps, current WKU QB named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week following brilliant performance
It’s safe to say the former Maryland quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome is thriving at his new home.
Over the weekend Pigrome was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after leading Western Kentucky to a 20-17 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. It was the Hilltoppers’ first win of the 2020 season.

Pigrome completed 21-of-36 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in the win. He also toted the ball 55 yards on 16 carries. His performance included an 11-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Simon with just over six minutes left in the game to give WKU a 20-10 advantage.
Through the first three games, Pigrome has played well under center at his new home. He’s thrown for 498 yards and six touchdowns without an interception while completing passes at a 58.3% clip. He’s also added 197 yards on 47 carries for the Hilltoppers.
Next week, Western Kentucky will take on Marshall.
