FaceTime session with brother Tua eased Taulia Tagovailoa's nerves ahead of Week 5, says Mike Locksley
The serious concussion on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on Thursday Night Football gave many people a scare, including his young brother in Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. After Tua came out of the hospital, he was able to facetime with his distraught younger brother and lift his spirits, according to Maryland head coach Mike Locksley.
Locksley says that Taulia Tagovailoa had a tough time dealing with his brother’s injury Thursday night.
Notes that Taulia’s energy perked up once he was able to get on a FaceTime call with Tua, who told him he was okay and looking forward to seeing him play.

When Mike Locksley was asked if there was any doubt as to whether Taulia would play given the injury to his brother, Tua, he said:
"I think the one thing that was able to settle him down was when he was finally able to FT Tua and Tua basically said, 'hey I'm fine. Go play.'"

Taulia was concerned about his brother’s health, so much that it might have had negative implications when Maryland hosted Michigan State in Week 5. Tua’s word pushed Taulia to have a big performance as Maryland defeated Michigan State at home 27-13.
Taulia completed 32-of-42 of his passes for 314 yards and a touchdown. Maryland outgained Michigan State in total yards accounted for 489 to 321.
This was the first B1G win of the season for Maryland as the Terrapins have accounted for a 4-1 overall record.
