Former Maryland and NFL running back Lance Ball was arrested Monday on charges of domestic violence and 2nd degree assault, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

Ball, who is 37 and has been out of the NFL for over 10 years, was arrested for a “physical domestic disturbance” by Douglas County PD, and the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

A local report states that the incident stemmed from an argument after Ball returned home from golfing.

Ball played for 5 years in the NFL for 4 separate teams. He played 4 years at Maryland prior to going undrafted in the NFL, proving to be one of the top RBs in the ACC (prior to the Terps’ move to the B1G).

At Maryland, ball rushed for 2,487 yards and 26 touchdowns, 12 of which came his senior year in 2007. He recorded just 4 rushes his freshman year.
