Former Maryland RB Jake Funk is looking for a new NFL opportunity.

Funk, in his second NFL season, was waived Tuesday by the Los Angeles Rams.

Funk was a third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2020, his final season at Maryland. In 2021, the Rams selected him No. 233 overall in the 7th round of the NFL Draft.

Funk made 10 appearances for the Rams during the 2021 regular season, recording 2 carries for 5 yards. This year, Funk has been in 4 games for the defending Super Bowl champs, recording no other statistics.

Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic notes that Funk may stay with the Rams organization if he clears waivers.

We’ll see if Funk stays in Los Angeles on the practice squad or lands a new opportunity elsewhere.
