D.J. Durkin’s 2017 recruiting class continues to get better.

In Sunday’s Under Armour All-America Game, four-star athlete Markquese Bell’s chose Maryland over Ohio State, become the third player ranked in ESPN’s Top 300 to commit to the Terrapins and is one of the highest rated recruits of Durkin’s 2017 class.

Per 247 Sports, Bell is ranked as the third-best prospect from New Jersey and the seventh-best athlete in the class. His overall ranking is No. 188.

Bell became another Under Armour All-American to choose College Park, joining quarterback Kasim Hill.

Maryland’s recruiting class is currently ranked No. 17 nationally and fourth in the B1G according to 247 Sports. Durkin has landed seven four-star recruits, the most in 11 years according to ESPN.

The Terrapins finished the year 6-7 with a loss to Boston College in the Quick Lane Bowl.

Durkin is certainly on his way to building a competitor in the B1G East. Bell’s verbal commitment is the most recent indication that he’s got this program headed in a really good direction.
