Late in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Nick Cross’s dreams turned into reality. The Maryland safety heard his name called on Friday night and is heading to the professional ranks.
Cross was selected at No. 96 overall by the Indianapolis Colts. He was the first player from Maryland taken and one of 21 prospects from the B1G picked in the first three rounds.
On Friday night, Maryland captured the moment Cross received the phone call and learned he was heading to Indianapolis. Here was the priceless reaction:

There are so many awesome moments throughout the course of the NFL Draft that make the event so special. This is another one.
Cross had a strong final season in College Park, totaling 67 tackles, 4 pass break-ups, 3 sacks, 3 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles. He helped lead the Terrapins to a 7-6 season which ended with a Pinstripe Bowl victory over Virginia Tech.
Now, Cross is taking his talents to Indianapolis where he’ll try to earn a spot in the secondary.
