Jaishawn Barham announced that he would be entering the transfer portal on December 4 right as the portal officially opened.

Barham, a 2-year started for Maryland, announced Wednesday that he will commit to Michigan to play in 2024. Barham is the first addition out of the transfer portal for the Wolverines.

Here’s Barham’s announcement on X, formerly Twitter:

Barham made an immediate impact upon arriving to College Park in 2022. He started 12 games for the Terps, amassing 58 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks, the last 2 of which led the Terrapins.

As a sophomore Barham ran into some injury issues with Maryland, but still had a good season regardless. He finished this past campaign with 37 tackles, 3 sacks and an interception against… Michigan on November 11.

Barham is the first player out of the transfer portal to commit to Michigan. The Wolverines, of course, are ranked as the No. 1 team in the country right now and will face off against No. 4 Alabama in the Rose Bowl for a spot in the CFP Title game.
