Kevin Willard suffered his first loss of the year on Tuesday. Willard gave credit where credit was due at the post game press conference.

No. 13 Maryland lost 64-59 to Wisconsin in its second B1G game of the year. Willard credited Wisconsin for being solid on defense and taking the Terps out of their offensive game plan.

“I think everyone gets away with murder at home,” said Willard. “They are excellent defensively. You have to give them a lot of credit for them taking us out of our offense.”

Maryland shot 38.2% from the floor in the loss. The Terps did slightly better from three-point range, making 41.7% of their shots. Maryland also could not stop turning over the ball with 14 total on the night.

Regardless of the loss Maryland hoops will need to pick itself back up and move on. Maryland faces a tough opponent in No. 7 Tennessee Sunday in the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational next. Tipoff will be at 4:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
