Maryland offensive lineman Spencer Anderson is returning to the program for his senior season. Anderson announced the news on his Twitter account.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Anderson wants to have one more special season at Maryland before testing the waters in the pros.

“Dear Terps Nation, playing in the NFL has always been a dream of mine but after careful consideration I have decided to return to the University of Maryland for my senior year…Going for it all in 2022,” Anderson said.

The Maryland native was a 2021 Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and 2020-21 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. In 2020, Anderson blocked for the B1G’s second-highest ranked passing offense, which averaged 264 yards per game.

Maryland finished with a 7-6 overall record and ended up fifth place in the B1G East. The Terps capped off the season with a 54-10 rout vs. Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl.
