Usually you don’t hear many guarantees from players on two-win teams.

Well, William Likely bucked that trend.

The Maryland cornerback/return specialist said on Friday that his Terps will upset the rolling Badgers, despite the fact that Wisconsin is a 13-point favorite.

If Maryland is going to pull off that upset, Likely will have to be a big part of it. He is coming off a game in which he returned a kick for a touchdown in the fourth quarter against unbeaten Iowa.

Still, the Terps haven’t won since Sept. 19 against South Florida. Since then, they’ve fired head coach Randy Edsall and lost five games. Wisconsin, on the other hand, has four straight B1G wins after dropping the conference opener to Iowa.

We haven’t heard many guarantees, if any, in the B1G this year. Go figure that the first one comes from a team that’s winless in conference play.
