Tragic news came from Minnesota this past week when the Golden Gophers announced that former OL Nick Connelly — who was battling cancer — died at the age of 22.

Connelly was a starting tackle for Minnesota in 2017, but retired during the season due to numerous concussions. Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck announced earlier this week that Connelly was battling cancer, and then one day later, he had lost that battle.

Minnesota plans to honor Connelly with helmet stickers and wristbands during the game against Maryland today, but the Terrapins wanted to do something as well.

Take a look:

Right by Jordan McNair’s sticker is a sticker for Connelly. Maryland cares, and it was a thoughtful gesture from the Terrapins.
