Maryland adding sharpshooting guard via transfer portal, per report
Maryland basketball took a big step forward this past season under new head coach Kevin Willard, advancing to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to No. 1 seed Alabama.
Now, Willard and his staff face the prospect of keeping things rolling heading into next season. The Terrapins are reportedly adding a piece out of the transfer portal to make that happen.

According to Jeff Ermann with Inside MD Sports, Maryland is adding former Loyola Marymount guard Chance Stephens. The 6-foot-3 guard spent just one season with LMU before entering the portal.

As a true freshman, Stephens appeared in 28 games and averaged 6 points and 1 rebound per game, but the big draw for Stephens is his shooting stroke from deep. He averaged just under 2 made 3-point field goals per game and shot 37% from 3-point range.
