Maryland baseball secures outright B1G title for second straight season

Maryland baseball wrapped up the 2023 regular season Saturday afternoon, taking down Penn State 7-4 in the final game. In the process, the Terps secured the outright B1G title.
With Indiana’s Friday night loss to Michigan State, Maryland had already secured a share of the title. Taking down the Nittany Lions gave the Terrapins the outright title and back-to-back regular-season championships.

Maryland is the first B1G program to go back-to-back in league titles since Indiana from 2013-14. The Terrapins will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s B1G Tournament before finding out their draw for the NCAA Tournament.

This year will mark a 3rd straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Terrapins. Maryland has not advanced past the regional stage since 2015.
