Maryland basketball adds commitment from 7-footer on official visit

Maryland basketball has added a commitment from Braden Pierce, who committed to Maryland after an official visit Friday. Pierce is rated as a 3-star per 247Sports and held offers from NC State, Drake, DePaul and East Carolina, among others.

Pierce stands at 7-feet, 230 pounds and will be a big long-term addition for the Terrapins.

Here’s what Pierce had to say about his commitment, via 247Sports.

“I chose Maryland because they really jumped on board recruiting me during Christmas. They really made me a priority. I feel like the feelings are mutual on both sides and I really felt a connection with the coaches. I love the atmosphere out there and it felt like the right fit for me.”

Pierce is Maryland’s 4th commitment in the Class of 2023, joining 4-stars DeShawn Harris-Smith, Jamie Kaiser and Jahnathan Lamothe.
