Maryland basketball picked up a key transfer commitment as Kevin Willard looks to build out the roster for his first season with the Terrapins.

The player is Jahmir Young, an elite scorer who has played 3 seasons at Charlotte. A 6-foot-2 guard, Young began his career as a 3-star recruit and the No. 4 player out of Maryland for the 2019 recruiting class after playing for DeMatha Catholic High School.

Though Young committed to the Terrapins, he confirmed that he is still in the midst of the NBA Draft process and is undecided at this point. If he does return to college for another season, it will be at Maryland.

During the 2021-22 season, Young averaged 19.6 points per game with 5.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He is a 3-time All-Conference USA selection and averaged 16.7 points per game in 85 career games at Charlotte.
