Maryland beats out Notre Dame, other top programs for elite in-state linebacker

Maryland picked up a major prospect in the class of 2024 on Friday.

The Terps earned a commitment from 3-star linebacker Keyshawn Flowers. He picked Maryland over offers from programs such as Notre Dame, Miami and Alabama, amongst others.

Here’s his announcement:

Flowers is the No. 565 overall player and the No. 56 linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. A 3-star prospect, Flowers is also the No. 16 prospect in Maryland.

He attends Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.

Flowers took trips to both Notre Dame and Miami during the month of June prior to choosing the Terps. He initially received an offer from Maryland back in February of this year.

Maryland now has 13 prospects committed in the class of 2024. Flowers is the top-ranked recruit in Maryland’s class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
