Maryland coach Mike Locksley addresses team after ‘competitive’ day of fall camp

Maryland coach Mike Locksley can sense his team making progress.
That’s the message he conveyed to the Terps following a “competitive” day of fall camp on Saturday.

“I thought today was a really competitive day,” Locksley said. “I thought we got something out of the day … where all three phases got something out of it. I love the way you guys compete. I love the way we’re starting to see that player-driven culture where I see leaders coming from within. That’s what it’s going to take.”
Maryland is hoping to build off last season’s performance, which ended in a 2-3 campaign. The Terps haven’t made a bowl game since 2016.
The team is going to travel into Baltimore and attend the Ravens’ preseason game vs. New Orleans on Saturday night, Locksley said.
The Terps open their 2021 campaign with West Virginia on Sept. 4.
