Former Maryland defensive back Darnell Savage has been impressive during Senior Bowl practice this week, and earned some recognition for his effort.

Savage was one of four participants named the Senior Bowl Defensive Practice Players of the Week. He was the lone B1G player to receive that kind of praise on either side of the football.

Savage was one of the B1G’s better defensive backs this season, recording four interceptions, including a pick-six, in his final season with the Terrapins. He also totaled 52 tackles and 5.5 stops for loss.

He intercepted two passes in Maryland’s win over Rutgers.

For his career, Savage gathered eight interceptions and returned two for touchdowns. He tallied 182 total tackles in four seasons, including nine tackles for loss.

Savage is one of 12 B1G players participating in Saturday’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. The game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. ET.
