Jackson had 40 tackles for the Terrapins last season but also had seven pass break-ups and three interceptions while starting all 12 games in 2017. He leaves College Park with 80 total stops, four picks and 13 pass break-ups.

His departure is going to be a blow for D.J. Durkin and Maryland, which had one of the worst passing defenses in the B1G. The Terrapins allowed 228.6 yards per game through the air last fall.

While Jackson made his decision relatively quick, there could be a few more Terps that follow in his footsteps, most notably wide receiver D.J. Moore. Moore led the conference with 1,033 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
