Brand has appeared in 26 career games for the Terps. He played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2017, recording 13 tackles and one sack as a reserve along the defensive line. In 2018, he saw the field in just four games, allowing him to utilze his redshirt season.

Last year, Brand collected 12 tackles, four of which were for a loss. He also registered the second sack of his career.

Brand would leave Maryland as a graduate transfer, allowing him to play immediately in the 2020 season. As a rising redshirt junior, he would have two years of eligibility remaining.

Maryland finished the 2019 season with a 3-9 record and was 1-8 in B1G games.
