The Terps picked up a commitment from athlete Josiah Mclaurin. He had offers from programs such as Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech and App State, amongst others.

Mclaurin’s recruitment moved quickly once he earned an offer from the Terps back on May 26 — less than a month ago.
He has gone under-the-radar nationally to this point in the recruiting process. He does not currently have a 247Sports Composite ranking. However, that could change in the coming months before the end of this cycle.
Mclaurin attends Clinton High School in Clinton, North Carolina. He’s listed at 6-foot, 180 pounds.
Mclaurin is listed as an athlete, but it appears he will be used as a wide receiver at the next level. Maryland receivers coach Gunter Brewer is his primary recruiter.
Maryland is now up to 8 commits in the class of 2024. The group ranks No. 71 in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
