Maryland survived a close game against SMU in Week 3. The Terps announced the top players from the game on the team’s Twitter account.

RB Roman Hemby, TE Corey Dyches, DB Beau Brade, and DB Rex Fleming were the four players that got highlighted by the program for their play against the Mustangs. Maryland hung on to beat SMU 34-27 thanks to a touchdown pass from Taulia Tagovailoa to Dyches in the fourth quarter.

It looks like Hemby is starting to secure the majority of the snaps in the Terrapins’ backfield. He had 16 carries for 151 yards rushing with 1 touchdown. Hemby also contributed in the receiving game, with 4 receptions for 62 yards receiving.

Brade led the team in tackles against the Mustangs. Brade had 15 total and 7 solo tackles on the day, and also had 1 interception.

Fleming was an asset on special teams. He had 1 total and 1 solo tackle, but helped prevent SMU from getting good field position.

Dyches finished the game with 32 yards receiving and 1 touchdown, which was the 3rd-most for Maryland against SMU, just behind Hemby and WR Rakim Jarrett (65).

Conference play opens for Maryland on Saturday against Michigan at noon ET on FOX.
