Students have work to do before Aug. 30. A tryout packet is posted on the team’s official website. A completed tryout packet, insurance card, class schedule and unofficial transcript must be turned in between Wednesday, Aug. 17 and Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Jones-Hill House offices (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). It also notes students must be full-time, have had a physical within the last 6 months, have lab results from a sickle cell trait test and be in compliance with the university’s COVID-19 requirements.

The tryout is less than a week before Maryland plays Buffalo on Sept. 3. Locksley’s squad is coming off of a 7-6 season in 2021. A pair of former walk-ons were notably put on scholarship when the Terps checked out a Baltimore Ravens preseason game.
