ESPN’s FPI is predicting the 2022 college football season. One team of particular note is Maryland.

Coming off a bowl victory and winning season, the Terrapins are trying to take another step forward under head coach Mike Locksley. Entering Year 4, players within the program remain intent on competing at the highest level.

During B1G Media Days, star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa made it clear that his goals for a successful season include a B1G Championship. That is admittedly a tall task, but getting back to the postseason looks like a realistic shot.

Heading into the season, the Football Power Index gives Maryland successful odds of winning 7 games on the schedule. The Terrapins are also expected to compete in a couple of other games though a few opponents are heavy favorites against Maryland.

Here is Maryland’s full schedule predicted by the FPI:

  • Sept. 3 vs. Buffalo — 88.2% chance of winning
  • Sept. 10 at Charlotte — 79.6% chance of winning
  • Sept. 17 vs. SMU — 71% chance of winning
  • Sept. 24 at Michigan — 17.4% chance of winning
  • Oct. 1 vs. Michigan State — 41.8% chance of winning
  • Oct. 8 vs. Purdue — 61.1% chance of winning
  • Oct. 15 at Indiana — 63.9% chance of winning
  • Oct. 22 vs. Northwestern — 79.9% chance of winning
  • Nov. 5 at Wisconsin — 29% chance of winning
  • Nov. 12 at Penn State — 26.8% chance of winning
  • Nov. 19 vs. Ohio State — 9.4% chance of winning
  • Nov. 26 vs. Rutgers — 82.1% chance of winning
