Maryland gets huge boost on NSD, steals 4-star QB from Florida State
Mike Locksley has pulled off the first major upset of his coaching career at Maryland.
On National Signing Day, Maryland received a commitment from four-star QB Lance LeGendre, who was expected to sign with Florida State on Wednesday. He immediately jumps near the top of the Terrapins’ 2019 recruiting class, becoming the second-highest ranked player of the group.
LeGendre becomes the 16th player to commit to Locksley’s first class in College Park.

LeGendre is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound dual-threat quarterback out of New Orleans. His commitment adds great depth to a position that has been in flux for the Terrapins over the last several years.
Per 247Sports, LeGendre is ranked as the No. 9 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class and is a top 15 talent out of Louisiana. He cracked the top 250 overall in the class, as well.
Maryland’s 2019 class ranks 73rd nationally and is last in the B1G.
