Former Maryland long snapper Matt Oliveira is headed to SEC country.

On Monday afternoon, Oliveira tweeted out that he’ll be graduate transferring to South Carolina for his final year of eligibility. After starting for the Terrapins on the special teams unit for three seasons, the long snapper fills gap for the Gamecoks.

“Beyond excited to announce that I will play my final year of eligibility at the University of South Carolina,” Oliveira wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to the University of Maryland for the past 4 years. Time to get back to work.”

Oliveira has been the starting long snapper for the Terrapins since 2016 and has appeared in 36 consecutive games. He heads to South Carolina as a grad transfer, meaning he’ll be immediately eligible in 2019.

South Carolina opens the 2019 season on Aug. 31 against North Carolina.
