Maryland hoops lands commitment from 4-star shooting guard
Maryland’s 2021 recruiting class added a terrific guard out of South Carolina on Wednesday afternoon.
The Terrapins received a pledge from 6-foot-6 shooting guard Ike Cornish on Wednesday, a four-star shooting guard from Greenville. He held offers from eight other programs but decided to commit to Maryland. He posted a video on Twitter to make his announcement official.
Cornish is ranked as the No. 3 player out of the state of South Carolina and the No. 16 shooting guard in the class. Overall, he ranks as the No. 77 prospect according to 247Sports.

Cornish picked Maryland over offers from DePaul, Georgetown, Rutgers, VCU, Virginia Tech, George Washington, Xavier and St. John’s.
Maryland now has two players committed in the 2020 class, both four-star talents. Last month, the Terps landed a pledge from 6-foot-9 power forward Julian Reese, the No. 104 prospect in the cycle.
The Terps rank 5th nationally with the 2021 class and second in the B1G.
