That’s definitely one way to close out the season with a statement win!

On Wednesday, Maryland squared off against Virginia Tech in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. It was a showdown of former ACC foes as the Terrapins headed to their first bowl game under Mike Locksley.

From the jump, it was Maryland that was firing on all cylinders in the bowl game. The Terrapins managed 24 points before halftime and poured it on in the second half during the 54-10 win over the Hokies.

That is about as dominant as you can be in bowl season. In fact, Maryland’s 44-point margin of victory just missed the B1G’s all-time record for a bowl game.

According to BTN, Michigan holds the all-time largest win by a B1G team in a bowl game with a pair of 49-point victories in the Rose Bowl. However, the 44-point win by the Terrapins comes in as the second-largest win by a B1G team in a bowl game.

With their first winning season since 2014, hopefully, the Terrapins can use this dominant performance as a stepping stone into 2022.
