Maryland just beat out Alabama head-to-head for Buffalo TE transfer Tyler Mabry.

The pass catcher recorded 27 catches for 230 yards and two TDs, and he’ll be eligible immediately for new head coach Mike Locksley. Formerly a Michigan native, Mabry attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he was rated a 2-star prospect exiting high school. He was ranked as the nation’s No. 94 overall TE and the state of Florida’s No. 362 overall prospect in the class of 2015, per 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Mabry appeared on the Mackey Award Watch List given annually to the nation’s top TE, and it’ll give the Terrapins a weapon immediately.

Following Mabry’s commitment to Maryland, he joins QB Josh Jackson, WR Sean Savoy and LB Keandre Jones as transfers into the program.
