According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Johnson is a 3-star recruit and the No. 7 player out of the state for the class of 2023. Johnson is also the 152nd DL in the nation for the cycle.
With Johnson’s commitment, Maryland’s 2023 recruiting class is now up to 20 pledges. That group was ranked 44th nationally prior to Johnson’s commitment as head coach Mike Locksley tries to build for the future after a winning season in 2021.
